Mckenna grace
It is rare to find a child actor that feels like an immediate star, but McKenna Grace is a name that I am confident we will be hearing more about in the future. Only ten years old at the time of the release of Gifted, McKenna Grace is challenged to portray Mary, a mathematical child prodigy, and she pulls it off with extraordinary dexterity and emotional range. In Gifted, Frank Adler (Chris Evans) tries to balance his niece’s genius IQ with having a normal childhood. Unfortunately, they get swept up in a custody battle that threatens to take Mary away from her uncle. Many child actors, when they’re asked to be sad or angry or happy, will simply mimic what they think emotions look like because they don’t have the experience or instincts to fully dive into their character. But Grace instills a maturity to her performance that surpasses expectation. Plus, McKenna Grace and Chris Evans work wonderfully together, and if any of their online interviews or media circuits is any indication, they have a wonderful relationship offscreen as well.
