Tropic thunder

Tropic Thunder is a relentlessly irreverent parody of Hollywood culture, about a group of self-absorbed actors making a movie about the Vietnam War. It’s a constant stream of excessive comedic violence and subversive meta jokes that, if I were to quote many of them out of context, people would probably think I’m a bigot or clinically insane. But the deeply embedded satire and the way the actors (Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr., Jack Black, Jay Baruchel, Brandon T. Jackson, Matthew McConaughey, and Tom Cruise) buy into their roles creates instant comedic gold — fans will never forget Robert Downey Jr. pulling off all his facial cosmetics or Tom Cruise dancing to Flo Rida’s “Low.” I think it’s an absolute riot, though if you don’t like coarse language and off-color humor, then this one probably isn’t for you.
